General Information

Train Models and Layouts Members of the Bluegrass Railroad Club share a wide variety of railroading interests. Originally organized in 1971 as the Bluegrass Model Railroad Club, the club now includes non-modeleres as well as model railroaders. Members enjoy almost any activity that involves railroads, such as photography, history, restoring railroad equipment, modeling, and collecting railroad artifacts and models. Modelers in the club build models in gauges from Z to 7-1/2".

Many of our members belong to other railroad organizations, such as railroad museums, historical societies, modeling groups, train collector associations and other railfan and safety organizations.

Membership in the Bluegrass Railroad Club is open to those with a genuine interest in railroading. Junior memberships are available for youngsters up to 16 years of age. Membership dues are currently $30.00 for adult family membership and $10 for junior membership. Dues are pro-rated for joining after the first quarter of the year. Club members meet the second Friday of each month at the Meadowthorpe Community Center, 333 Larch Lane, Lexington, KY @ 7:30pm. Meetings consist of a short business meeting followed by a program on a railroad subject, such as a video, slide show, guest speaker, clinic, or show & tell.
